DCI Sounds of The South Tickets On Sale
This July, the 2009 Drum Corps International Tour rolls through Valdosta, Ga., for the Sounds of the South. Taking place at the newly renovated Martin Stadium at Lowndes High School, eight top corps representing DCI’s World, Open and All-Age Classes will compete at this exciting event.

Band Fees and Health Forms Due Before Pre-Camp
Band fees must be paid before July 20. Fees are detailed in the Georgia Bridgemen Welcome Letter. Fees are $130 for Dance Line and Color Guard and $180 for other band students. Also, each band student must have a 2009-2010 health form. The form can be downloaded from the link at the right. Thank you!

Fall 2009 Performance Schedule Now Posted
Georgia Bridgemen band members are expected at every performance and practice.

Pre Camp- July 20-23 Time: 9 AM-12 Noon; 2 PM-5 PM
Pictures- July 24 8:00 AM until released [make no plans for this date!]
Band Camp- July 27-30 Time: 9 AM – 9 PM

Practice Schedule After Band Camp

Tuesday and Thursday 3:30-6:00
* If extra practices are needed they will be on Monday 3:30-6:00**
** The weeks of contest the practice schedule will be:
 Monday – Thursday 3:30 – 6:00 (except on Wednesday 3:30 – 5:00)

Mark your calendar for the Lowndes High Georgia Bridgemen's fifth annual Battle on the Border marching band contest Saturday, October 24. We invite bands from Alabama, Florida, and Georgia to take the field for competition. Lowndes High's Martin Stadium is an excellent facility, having been renovated in 2008 and is located convenient to both I-75 and U.S. Hwy 84. We look forward to seeing your band perform! Register Now for Little Bridgemen Color Guard & Dance Camp
This 3-day summer camp is an opportunity for rising 2nd -8th graders in the Valdosta Area to learn fun and exciting dance or prop routines from the Georgia Bridgemen Color Guard and Dance Line. ALL skill levels are welcome!  Camp participants will learn two routines and will have the opportunity to perform with the Georgia Bridgemen during pre-game at the Lowndes vs. Henry County football game on August 28, 2009 at 8:00pm.  In addition, all participants will receive a t-shirt. 

When:
July 15-17, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. for Dance AND/OR 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. for Color Guard

Where:
Lowndes High School Cafetorium

Cost:
$60.00 for half day camper (Dance OR Color Guard) and a T-shirt
$85.00 for whole day camper (Dance AND Color Guard), lunch, and a T-shirt

Return Check Fees Increased
Effective October 1, 2008
The band has seen a significant increase in the number of returned checks, and we are incurring excessive cost due to bank fees. Effective October 1, all returned checks will require a $30.00 returned check fee to be paid to the band. If you are having financial difficulties in these difficult times, please talk with one of the band officers so that we can help you with a payment schedule or other means to provide for your student's needs.
