Recent Bridgemen Accomplishments

2007

The Georgia Bridgemen won all captions, Best in Class Band, and the Mayors' Trophy for highest score among all bands at the A-Town Invitational Band Competition in Andalusia, Alabama, October 6, 2008.

2006

The Georgia Bridgemen marched in the 117th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade. Also, the band was brought to the start of the parade to perform for the opening of the NBC broadcast, and at the special invitation of Tournament of Roses Parade President Libby Wright, the LHS Jazz Band performed for the Tournament of Roses Parade Executive Committee and Grand Marshall Sandra Day O'Connor, United States Supreme Court Justice.

Grand Champions – Bowdon Invitational Marching Competition, Bowdon, GA

Best In Class Band – Heart of Georgia Marching Competition, Warner-Robins, GA

Host Band – Second Annual “Battle on the Border” Marching Competition, Exhibition Band, Valdosta, GA

Performed in the “McDonalds Thanksgiving Day Parade”, Chicago, IL

Performed in the Walt Disney World Christmas Parade that aired world-wide on Christmas morning on ABC Television.  (The only band to be televised in this parade.)

2005

Performed in The 55th Presidential Inaugural Parade, Washington, DC

First Runner-Up – Gulf Coast Invitational Marching Band Competition, Panama City, FL

Host Band – First Annual “Battle on the Border” Marching Competition, Exhibition Band, Valdosta, GA

2004

With straight superiors, the Lowndes High Georgia Bridgemen were Best in Class and overall Grand Champions at the Worth County Invitational Marching Competition.

Grand Champion – National Peanut Festival Marching Competition, Ashford, AL

Performed for a live, state-wide audience in half-time performances at the State AAAAA Football semi-finals from the Georgia Dome and in the State Championship game at Parkview High.

2003

Exhibition Band – Tarpon Springs Marching Competition, Tarpon Springs, FL

First Runner-Up – Isles of Eight Marching Band Competition, Fernandina Beach, FL

Performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade – New York City, New York
