Georgia Bridgemen March in Cherry Blossom Parade
The Georgia Bridgemen marched through the heart of the nation's capitol for the National Cherry Blossom Festival, entertaining the crowds gathered down Constitution Avenue. A storm Friday night swept away most of the cherry blossoms, but we enjoyed them for the first days of the trip. The band students toured the monuments of the National Mall, the Smithsonian museums, Mount Vernon, and Arlington National Cemetary. Band Camp Dates Set for 2008
Marching season resumes July 21, 2008, with Pre-Camp at Lowndes High. All students need to have their health form turned in prior to Pre-Camp. Here are the camp dates for summer 2008:

Pre-Camp	July 21-24	9 AM - 4 PM
Picture Day	July 25	TBA
Band Camp	July 28-July 31	9 AM - 10 PM

Mr. Todd Named One of 50 Top Band Directors
Georgia Bridgemen Band Director, Charles Todd, has been named as one of the "50 Band Directors Who Make a Difference" by the national publication School Band & Orchestra. An exemplary director from each state in the US was honored, and Charles Todd was chosen to represent Georgia in this prestigious group of professionals. Charles Todd has been making a difference with Lowndes students since 1979 when he began as an Assistant Band Director at LHS. After one year there, he served as the Band Director at Lowndes Middle for 19 years. He then returned to the high school where he has been making a difference for the last ten years.
